Flippa Kills Their Trust Score System

by on September 7 2011

I’ve always been a big fan of Flippa due to the fact that their trust system was built in a similar way that eBay was run, being that the community of users would decide on the trust factor of users based on their feedback and reputation. Flippa has decided they would no longer like to use this platform and have moved away from the “trust score” completely.

So how are we supposed to know the quality of users who are buying and selling web sites? First off, you can still view user feedback and history through their member account pages. The major replacement for the trust score, is a new system Flippa has in place that shows the user feedback, along with the amount of buys/sales made through Flippa.

You can see a screenshot sample of the new member rating system below.

As important as the trust score was, I really like the new system they have in place. Your feedback is extremely important and if you have less than 100%, your account will greatly stand out. From a seller perspective, it’s also great to be able to see the amount of sales/buys that have been generated by users who are bidding on your sites. I would much rather see users with $20,000+ and 100% feedback bidding on my sites, than (NEW) users.
